When Minister of Social Affairs Cries and Hugs Gading, A Child with Disabilities
"Limitations are not an obstacle"
Presumably, that's the right proverb for Gading, a 15-year-old teenager from Pekalongan Regency.
Unlike normal teenagers in his age, Gading Ogi Saputra, lives a life full of limitations. The condition of both his legs and hands are not perfect, making it difficult for him to carry out his usual activities.
However, this condition did not make him feeling discouraged in the least. In fact, this condition actually makes him more enthusiastic to live life. Every day, he goes around the city center to Pekalongan Regency to sell food and soft drinks. The three-wheeled motorcycle is a witness to Gading's persistence.
Initially, the second son of the couple Suwono and Susiati was selling food and soft drinks by using a pedal bicycle. Later, the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, provided assistance in the form of an electric motorcycle, which was designed to suit Gading's needs.
The assistance of electric motorcycle also gave a big enough impact for Gading. Now, he no longer has to bother pedaling his bicycle. His mobility can be faster and farther. As a result, the turnover, which was previously only Rp300.000 to Rp500.000 per day, has now doubled to more than Rp1.000.000 per day.
Keep it up Gading! You are proof that limitations are not a barrier. You are an inspiration to many people. And you have made a deep impression in every second of your journey.
