PASURUAN (December 14, 2024) - Fatma Saifullah Yusuf, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Affairs' Dharma Wanita Persatuan (Women's Organization for Civil Servant's Wives), participated in a cooking class event hosted by the Pasuruan City Social Office to honor International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). The event featured persons with disabilities from varied backgrounds, including those with physical and visual disabilities, who demonstrated extraordinary cooking skills despite their limitations.


Fatma Saifullah Yusuf was satisfied with the participants’ enthusiasm and creativity. "I am amazed and impressed to see them cooking despite not being able to see," she said while attending the event at the Pasuruan Sports Hall on Saturday, December 14, 2024. According to her, this proves that persons with disabilities have remarkable abilities and potential that deserve recognition.


In addition to the cooking class, another activity held was drawing. Fatma emphasized the importance of recognizing and developing the potential of children with disabilities. "Who knows, one of them might become a painter. I’ve seen some amazing works by persons with disabilities during the IDPD commemoration in Jakarta," she said.


Fatma also praised the event organizers' commitment and hard work in providing a platform for persons with disabilities to continue creating. "They have wonderful works, and we must ensure space for them," she said.


As Advisor to Dharma Wanita Persatuan, Fatma Saifullah Yusuf called on all parties to continue supporting persons with disabilities through relevant and sustainable programs. "Please pray that, as an advisor to Dharma Wanita at the Ministry of Social Affairs, I can help bring persons with disabilities to a higher level," she said. 


This event serves as a tangible demonstration of efforts to promote social inclusion and recognition of the exceptional works created by persons with disabilities.
