JAKARTA (22 June 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs cooperates with religious organizations and parties concerned with handling the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

"We respond to religious organizations and parties who care and want to help in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic," said the Social Minister in Jakarta, Tuesday (22/6/2021).

The aid received is planned to be used to buy protein-rich foods. According to nutritionists
protein-rich foods can be used to increase immunity.

"Eating protein-rich foods twice a day can increase immunity. Rich-protein food such as egg," she said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs opt to distribute cooked eggs than raw eggs to avoid the risk of broken eggs.

"We took the initiative to distributed ready-to-consume eggs because of the high risk when the eggs are distributed raw (broken)," she said.

After the eggs are cooked, they will be distributed to the community, Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) which will later be given to the Social Welfare Service Provider (PPKS).

"This is not related to the Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) and lock-down plans, because it is the authority of the regional government," she said.

Efforts to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic can be done by the community by implementing health protocols strictly and consistently.

"I believe that strictly implementing the health protocols will greatly help prevent the further impact of pandemic because implementing total lock-down is not feasible," she said.
