JAKARTA (December 9, 2023) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini gave awards to 20 companies and government agencies that consistently provide space for people with disabilities to work. These companies and institutions are partners of the Ministry of Social Affairs through the centers of MoSA in a region that provide social rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities.
"No need to hesitate to accept people with disabilities. I thank you very much," said the Minister to the representatives of the companies and institutions present.
The Minister said the number of companies that employ people with disabilities cannot be separated from the empowerment carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs through centers spread throughout Indonesia. Persons with disabilities are trained according to their interests at the Center. Then the Ministry of Social Affairs cooperates with various companies to employ people with disabilities according to their competence and according to the needs of the company.
In addition, companies conduct a fair selection by company standards, so that people with disabilities are absorbed by the company not because of pity but because of the competence of people with disabilities and company needs.
"We train them in our centers according to what they are interested in. Some are workshops," she said.
The Minister said, people with disabilities who are said to have shortcomings, actually must have advantages. "God may give something that are their weakness but surely everone also has strengths. Our job is to find and develop those strengths," said the Minister.
Meanwhile, 20 companies/institutions that were awarded were PT Yasulor Indonesia, PT Yamaha Music Indonesia, PT Omron, PT Federal International Finance, PT Intan Pertiwi Tangerang, Bank Permata Jakarta, PT APIX Printing Jakarta, MM Motor Jakarta, PT Sampack Unggul Jakarta, Procurement & Logistics Operation Divison - BRI Head Office, Halo BCA Foresta BSD Tangerang, PT. DNP Indonesia, Logistics and Facilities Management Department of Bank Indonesia, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal Management Unit Jakarta, PT Redi Print Jakarta, PT Edgar Printing Jakarta, PT Tridaya Artaguna Santara, Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) Indonesia Exim Bank, and PT PEMI AW.
One of the people with disabilities recruited by the company, Muhammad Nasrun (27) said he currently works at a printing company. Daily, he works on movie designs and settings as well as creating artwork that will be handed over to customers. The physically disabled man from Lombok is an alumnus of the Inten Soeweno Integrated Center in Cibinong. Currently, the man who is familiarly called Nasrun already has a steady income.
"Currently, my income is Rp4 million, apart from that I get mess facilities, wifi, and there is also a washing machine," he said.
