YOGYAKARTA (31 May 2024) – Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini is working hard to market various items created by Nusantara Economic Heroes' beneficiary families (KPM) through various channels. One of them is cooperating with Pusat Oleh-oleh Krisna Nusantara, which is well-known in Bali and is now opening a branch in Malioboro Mall Yogyakarta.

Seventeen types of PENA craft products are now sold at the Pusat Oleh-oleh Krisna Nusantara. These include Sasirangan embroidery from South Kalimantan, eco-print hats, batik prayer mats, batik shirts, and batik pouches. There are also tissue holders made from banana stems, bracelets, eucalyptus oil from Buru Island, Kusamba sea salt, and more.

Minister Risma emphasized that the marketing of KPM PENA products and those created by persons with disabilities must be handled professionally, ensuring high standards of product quality and packaging. She highlighted the beauty and diversity of the crafts made by persons with disabilities from various regions across Indonesia.

"We are very grateful to good people like Ajik Krisna who have helped market products for persons with disabilities and KPM PENA," said Minister Risma, Friday (31/5) evening in Yogyakarta. She noted that such assistance is extremely beneficial as it can significantly boost the local economy. In addition to promoting KPM products, the Ministry of Social Affairs has facilitated employment for two individuals with disabilities at Pusat Oleh-oleh Krisna Nusantara. Erwinda and Fian, who completed their evaluation and training, are now working at Krisna Nusantara. "Persons with disabilities must be prepared. They understand sign language, and we provide them with the necessary training to be able to work here," added Minister Risma.

Gusti Ngurah Anom, also known as Ajik Krisna, who runs the Pusat Oleh-oleh Krisna Nusantara network in Bali, remarked that he would be delighted to be able to promote KPM PENA products due to their high quality. It is believed that cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs, which has been closely formed thus far, can be extended further to benefit the community.

Ajik Krisna explained that there were 183 MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) involved in opening outlets in Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta was purposely chosen since it shares many of Bali's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
