JAKARTA (September 10, 2019) - The Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation (Directorate of RSA) organized the UNICEF Support Analytical Review Workshop for the Protection of Children in Disaster Situations in Central Sulawesi (Pasigala). In this activity, the Directorate of RSA collaborated with UNICEF as a UN agency supporting the Ministry of Social Affairs in the field of Children.
The Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Edi Suharto, accompanied by the Director of Child Social Rehabilitation, Kanya Eka Santi and UNICEF Chief Child Protection, Amanda Bissex, officially opened the activity as well as giving direction to this activity.
Edi thanked UNICEF for the material and logistical support to the children of disaster victims in Central Sulawesi.
"We hope that this collaboration will continue and be enhanced, not only in the protection of children in disaster situations, but also in situations that threaten the survival and safety of the lives of Indonesian children," explained Edi.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and UNICEF have collaborated since the earthquake and tsunami in Aceh in 2004. In addition to supporting facilities and infrastructure, capacity building and human resource capacity (Sakti Peksos) in disaster situations also become a focus in collaboration with UNICEF.
