WEST LOMBOK (September 16, 2019) - The Head of the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children Needing Special Protection (BRSAMPK) "Paramita" Mataram, Ahmad Subarkah and the BRSAMPK "Paramita" Quick Response Team (TRC), conducted case responses in two places, in Narmada and Kuripan Districts.
The first case was a 16-year-old girl who was a victim of sexual crime. The girl who was still in junior high school grade 3 was initially taken away by a 28 year old male perpetrator who was none other than the neighbor of the victim.
Then the team also responded to the case of a boy who was malnourished, aged 2 years and weighing 10 kg. The child had an intestinal surgery and the doctor repositioned the anus in the stomach because of the narrowing of the digestive tract.
The economic condition of the family is unfortunate. The family's daily meals is guaranteed by the head of the family who works as a casual laborer with uncertain income every month. So far no assistance from any party has been provided for these children and families.
Initially, according to the Secretary of the Batukuta Village, these families found it difficult to access basic health needs at the puskesmas as they were treated uncertainly by the officials in order to get free health services. But through mediation and correspondence from the village to the Regent of Lombok finally the child gets free health services for surgery. Ahmad Subarkah said, "You have to be patient, children are a gift from God, so we as parents must maintain this mandate," concluded Subarkah.
