TERNATE (October 5th, 2019) - KrikPal or Keripik Pala (Nutmeg Chips) is a snack produced by "Wasana Bahagia" BRSODHIV Ternate production installation. There are three variants of KrikPal flavors namely, cheese, roasted corn and barbecue. In the future, KrikPal will try to be marketed in a Ternate typical souvenir shop.

North Maluku has been known as nutmeg and clove-producing region since the Portuguese colonial era. No wonder the nutmeg is very easy to find in the corners of Ternate besides clove. However, the use of this fruit is only the seeds and flowers, nutmeg flesh is usually just thrown away by farmers.

"Wasana Bahagia" BRSODHIV Ternate through its production installation facilities tries to create a new kind of food made from nutmeg. So that the flesh of the fruit which was only considered waste can be a product that has economic value.

The collaboration was held on October 5, 2019 with Ternate typical souvenir shop owner IFAMOY Irmawati Husen. He also taught the practice of producing light snacks from nutmeg to the beneficiaries (PM) and Time Bound Shelter (TBS).

"The making of nutmeg chips is very simple, so it can be practiced by the beneficiaries when they return to the community," he explained.

Production installation activities are the implementation of Social Rehabilitation Program (PROGRES) of PLWHA, where one of the purpose is to provide vocational therapy to improve the social capabilities of PLWHA.

This activity was attended by 26 TBS beneficiaries, consisting of three TBS beneficiaries for two weeks, three TBS beneficiaries for two months and 23 TBS beneficiaries for four months. They are actively involved from the preparation of ingredients, processing, until the packaging.
