Rejang Lebong (September 27,
2024) – The Technical Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Social Affairs
(MoSA), Dharma Guna Center in Bengkulu has been moving to help RU (15), a
victim of stepfather's raped child in Rejang Lebong Bengkulu since September 3,
2024. Various types of Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) have also been
provided to restore the victim's physical, psychological, and social conditions
to date.
"At that time, the victim
told her mother that she had often been harassed by the perpetrator," said
Syam Wuryani, Head of the Dharma Guna Center Bengkulu, Friday (September 27,
2024).
The victim first experienced
harassment by the perpetrator in early 2024, when the victim's mother was not
at home. Since then, the perpetrator has often threatened to kill the victim's
younger sibling and mother so that the victim would follow his orders. The
perpetrator was finally arrested on August 27, 2024, and detained at the Rejang
Lebong Police.
To find out about RU's health, MoSA
facilitated and accompanied the examination and laboratory tests at a hospital
in Bengkulu. Hematology, immunology, and HIV tests were carried out. The
results showed that RU was healthy and HIV-negative. MoSA also took RU to
undergo a psychological examination by a psychologist. "We took him to the
Bengkulu Clinical Psychologists Association. Also, to a psychiatrist to ensure
RU's psychological and mental condition," added Syam Wuryani.
From a legal perspective, MoSA has coordinated with the Rejang Lebong Police and the District Attorney's Office so that the perpetrator can be punished to the maximum.
Coordination with the school was conducted to facilitate the process of moving schools to areas deemed safe by RU.
Furthermore, MoSA and social offices, psychologists, and psychiatrists continue
to provide ongoing assistance and monitoring of the physical, psychological,
social, and economic conditions of the victim and family.
In addition to facilitating
physical, psychological, and mental health examinations, MoSA also assists in
the form of personal hygiene equipment and clothing. RU's biological mother will also be given
entrepreneurship assistance in the form of selling sweets or basic necessities
or snacks, after RU's psychological recovery at the Dharma Guna Center in
Bengkulu.
