WAINGAPU (October 24, 2019) - The Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who need Special Protection (BRSAMPK) "Naibonat" Kupang conducts capacity building activities for families of Children with HIV / AIDS (ADHA).

The activity carried out together with the Child Social Rehabilitation Program Companion (PROGRESA) in Waingapu was carried out to provide mental and social reinforcement for ADHA and the family. "The ADHA family feels ashamed if their child's condition is known by the surrounding environment," said Mekel, one of Waingapu's PROGRESA companions.

In addition, not a few of ADHA who gave birth but left their babies because of despair about their condition. But the mental and social therapy that is carried out continuously makes the spirit of their lives arise again. This is what makes them willing to follow medical advice as well as mental and social spiritual therapies.

From the searches conducted by BRSAMPK "Naibonat" Kupang, there are ADHA who excel in schools and sports. But after HIV / AIDS was detected the child dropped out of school and had to be at home because of embarrassment.

"Parents are the closest relatives who are able to provide security and motivation for ADHA," said Andreas Banggo Kasi of the BRSAMPK Social Rehabilitation Service "Naibonat" Kupang.

Therefore, ADHA should not be isolated. They must be recognized for their existence with mental and spiritual mental therapy to be able to rise from adversity experienced.
