JAKARTA (February 7, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini gave awards to 15 companies that contributed to alleviating poverty by employing people with disabilities. The award in the form of a charter was handed over at the Aneka Bhakti Building of the Ministry of Social Affairs, on Wednesday (7/2).
"Thank you for your participation in solving poverty problems and trying to reduce vulnerable groups including disabilities. Thank you for accepting them with your heart," explained Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini.
This award was given for their role in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, namely to the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, PT. BRI, PT. BNI, PT. Buana Esa Nusa Sejahtera, PT. EDS Manufacturing Balaraja, and FIF Group Central Jakarta Branch. In addition, awards were also given to PT Habingsky, PT Primarasa, PT Kokuo Harmonia Indonesia, PT Mitracom Ekasarana, PT Muwon, PT Starnet Plus Jakarta, Tahu GO, PT Tridaya Artaguna Santara Tangerang, PT Wida Jakarta.
So far, the Ministry of Social Affairs has been active in providing training and social assistance to beneficiaries. In addition, it also provides opportunities to access job opportunities.
One of the awardees, PT Kokuo Harmonia Indonesia, M. Nurohim, explained that so far there have been no significant obstacles in employing people with disabilities who work in the field of massage and reflexology.
"We are moved and committed to collaborating with them (people with disabilities), providing training to them, as well as giving attention to them by employing them to be independent," explained the Director of PT Kokuo Harmonia Indonesia.
Until now, as many as 40 people with disabilities who are former beneficiaries of the Bekasi Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center of the Ministry of Social Affairs have worked as massage and reflexology therapists in various branches of PT. Kokuo Harmonia Indonesia.
Hudiono, Human Resources Manager of FIF Group, Central Jakarta Branch said, that persons with disabilities have provided tremendous inspiration and motivation to other employees. "Their spirit and work ethic is extraordinary, thus motivating other employees to work with passion like them," said Hudiono.
No One Left Behind, is a commitment of the Ministry of Social Affairs in helping beneficiaries to not only expect social assistance but also to be competitive and have economic independence by providing opportunities to work.
On the same occasion, the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs also graduated 3,772 KPM Pahlawan Ekonomi Nusantara (PENA) in the January 2024 period. They are PENA program participants who have graduated or been released from social assistance because they can be independent. Thus from 2023 to January 2024, the number of KPM PENA Graduation has reached 13,845 KPM.
