KLUNGKUNG (July 14, 2022) - MoSA through the Directorate General of Social Empowerment continues to make efforts to make the community independent, with various programs. This time, MoSA assisted the Social Entrepreneurship Program (Prokus) for salt farmers with a tunnel system in Kusumba village, Klungkung Bali.

 

On this occasion, the Director General of Social Empowerment, Edi Suharto, was present at the Prokus dissemination activity as well as the handover of assistance for making tunnel salt in the village of Kusamba which was located in the Praja Mandala Room of the Klungkung Regent's Office.

 

This activity was attended by representatives of the Klungkung Regency Regional Apparatus Organization, the "Sarining Segar" Salt Farmer Group of Kusumba Village, and representatives of the Institute of Technology “Sepuluh November” (ITS) Surabaya.

 

In this dissemination activity, the signing of the Prokus Handover Minutes (BAST) for the salt farmer group in Kusamba Village in the form of a salt farm with a Tunnel system. BAST was signed by the Chairperson of the "Sarining Segar" Salt Farmers Group and the ITS Director of Research and Community Service and witnessed by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation and the Regent of Klungkung.

 

Edi Suharto welcomed the collaboration and support of the Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya in providing assistance and empowerment for salt farmers in Kusamba Village.

 

"The development of a strategy to increase salt production, marketing, and cooperation in building a sustainable business ecosystem is expected to have a positive impact and improve welfare for the beneficiaries and the surrounding community," he said.

 

On the same occasion, the Regent of Klungkung appreciated the assistance provided by the Minister of Social Affairs for the empowerment of the salt farming community in Kusumba Village in the form of the construction of a salt tunnel to improve the quality and quantity of salt production of salt farmer groups.

 

"I hope that in the future, salt production in Kesumba Village will be able to compete in the market and have an impact on improving the economy and the welfare of the Kesumba Village community," he said.

 

Also attending the event were the Director of Community Empowerment, the Director of Remote Indigenous Community Empowerment (KAT) and Social Entrepreneurship, the Head of Social and PPPA Service Bali Province and Klungkung Regency Social Service, representatives from the Office of Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry, Trade, Klungkung Regency, LLPPM Udayana, IPB Alumni Community through Gerai Nusantara and Jendranath as well as representatives of other relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations.
