The activity that was attended by 100 participants consisted of the social pillars of the City of Depok, namely TKSK, Karang Taruna, and PSM began with a Rapid Test for all participants.
Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto officially opened the event. In his direction, Edi Suharto said that the Social pillars owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs are the front-liner for the succeed of policies and programs in the Directorate General of Social Empowerment.
"We want to increase our understanding and of course the realization of values in society, especially those related to social restoration and to improve national values, heroism, solidarity, mutual cooperation, we can continue to develop, especially in relation to handling COVID-19," explained Edi Suharto.
The purpose of this social restoration Campaign is to encourage cooperation, social participation, awareness, vigilance in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We hope that the Social Pillars which have been struggling, both in prevention and in providing education and socialization related to COVID-19 can continue to work well. Hopefully this meeting can improve our value and understanding of the importance of togetherness in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic," added Edi Suharto.
The activity was followed by a panel discussion with M. Alfatih Timur, Co-Founder & CEO of Kitabisa.com. The moderator was the Head of Social Restoration Section Muhammad Azam.
The theme of the discussion was "Promoting Community Participation to Overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic" which explained the importance of the role of the Social Pillars in raising awareness and helping one another in public participation for those affected by COVID-19.
Kitabisa.com's Co-Founder & CEO explained how many people are concerned the conditions of others in need. They raised funds for people in need. Through this activity it expected that the Social Pillars will be able to move the community in their area to be more active in helping others.
Tulus, Karang Taruna Kec. Pancoran Mas conveyed what had been done in the community in handling COVID-19.
"We have sprayed in some areas in Pancoran district, synergized with community leaders and youth leaders to promote healthy lifestyles, diligently wash hands, and wear masks to prevent COVID-19 exposure," said Tulus.
Amirudin, TKSK Kec. Cilodong conveyed the need for collaboration in handling COVID-19.
"We give direction and explanation about the prevention of COVID-19 to the Cilodong people and actively provide assistance to residents affected by COVID-19 in the form of food and also we distribute masks 3 times a week in collaboration with PKK, the COVID Task Force, and other Social Pillars," Amirudin concluded.
Rosanah, IPSM of Depok City also conveyed the social action carried out in handling COVID-19.
"We are working with the Social Service to provide basic food assistance and we have also collected money privately with other Depok City IPSM friends to give to the people affected by COVID-19," Rosanah explained.
