SURABAYA (25 September 2019) - The eight delegations from ASEAN countries arrived at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya on Tuesday (9/24) night and Wednesday (9/25) morning. Of the eight people, three were delegates from Malaysia, three from Brunei Darussalam, and two from Myanmar.

Delegation from Malaysia was Hussain Moh. as Director of the Community and Social Development Division of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA). Then come together, Mohd. Rashidi Abdul Salam as Committee Member for NGO Disaster Assistance (BBNGO) and Ahmad Munawwar Helmi Salim as Chief Coordinator at the Imam Response and Relief Team.


Brunei Darussalam also sent three delegations to participate in this activity. They are Muhammad Johardi Hamdi who holds the position of Assistant Community Development Officer at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Furthermore, there were also Haji Sueb Rizal bin Haji Malek who occupied the position of Special Duties Grade II at the National Disaster Management Center in the Ministry of the Interior and Haji Aminarif bin Haji Nasir who was an Assistant Superintendent at the National Disaster Management Center in the Ministry of the Interior.


Also present were Junior Staff Officers at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Rebuilding of Myanmar, Houng Hlee along with Volunteer Staff at Myanmar Youth Volunteer Relief, Nan Moe Zar.


All of these delegations will participate in the 2019 National Tagana Jamboree and Social Service Jamboree event that will take place in three locations, namely Surabaya, Pasuruan and Probolinggo.


The arrival of the delegations to Indonesia was intended to fulfill the Tagana Jamboree invitation by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. Hussein, one of the Malaysian delegates expressed the pleasure of being able to attend and be part of one of Tagana's grand events.


"This program is very good. We have come to see how this event is held. If it is compatible, we can do it in Malaysia. We also come with experts from NGOs that they have directly involved in the community," Hussein said.


In addition, their arrival also carries a mission to be able to share experiences related to disaster management in their respective countries. Their experiences will be shared in the Idea Sharing Session on Thursday (9/26) at Candra Wilwatikta Park, Pasuruan.


The Jamboree and Tagana Social Service itself will take place over four days, 25-28 September 2019.
