"Commission VIII deliberately came specifically to Kapanewon Samigaluh. Of course, we hope that we will approach from many sides, including from the partners of Commission VIII. It is how we take part in improving the welfare of the community," said Member of Commission VIII DPR RI My Esti Wijayati when giving a statement to the media at the Kapanewon Samigaluh Office, Kulon Progo, Monday (8/5).
The woman representative from Yogyakarta has taken concrete steps with the MoSA to overcome social problems in Kulon Progo. One of them is in handling stunting in collaboration with the Antasena Center in Magelang.
"Last month we were already here. We presented from MoSA, Sentra Antasena as well as assisting around 300 people in the Kapanewon Samigaluh area," she said.
The MoSA through Sentra Antasena disbursed stunting prevention aid in the form of additional nutrition to 309 children worth IDR 76,3 million. In addition, the legislators also handed over and saw firsthand the distribution of social aid by the MoSA.
MoSA Aid worth IDR 37,3 Billion
Representing the MoSA, Director of Social Protection for Social and Non Natural Disaster Victims Mira Riyati Kurniasih said the aid provided by the MoSA in Kulon Progo Regency was distributed through various programs in the MoSA.
"The total amount was IDR 37,3 billion. The program consists of the Basic Food Aid worth IDR 9,3 billion given to 46,570, Family Hope Program (PKH) Phase I worth IDR 27,3 billion received by 34,213. PKH is distributed through Himbara and PT Pos," she said.
As for natural disasters, the MoSA provided Disaster Preparedness and Management aid worth IDR 568,8 million in the form of food, evacuation equipment, clothing, and family equipment. Previously, MosA built a social barn in Kulon Progo.
Other assistance provided is ATENSI (Social Rehabilitation Assistance). ATENSI support is a social rehabilitation service that uses a socialization-based approach to family, community, and residential which includes support for fulfilling a decent life, social care and/or childcare, family support, physical therapy, psychosocial therapy, mental spiritual therapy, vocational training, entrepreneurship coaching, social aid and assistance, and accessibility support.
As for Kulon Progo, ATENSI is given to 7 beneficiaries (Elderly with Disabilities 2, Vulnerable Group 1, Children 3, and Person with Disabilities 1). The aid provided was in the form of nutrition packages, sleeping equipment, practical tools (crutches), entrepreneurship, baby equipment, and school equipment.
Present on this event were Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI Diah Pitaloka and other members of the DPR RI, Acting Regent of Kulon Progo and elements of the Kulon Progo Forkopimda, Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation Salahuddin Yahya, Head of Antasena Magelang Center MK Agung Suhartoyo, and officials from other Commission VIII partner institutions.
