NGANJUK (February 17, 2021) - After the landslide disaster in Selopuro Hamlet, Ngetos Village, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency which piled up dozens of residents' houses, since Monday morning (15/2), the Ministry of Social Affairs through the role of 80 joint Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) from Kediri, Nganjuk, Madiun, Tuban, Ponorogo regencies and the Tagana Coordination Forum (FK) quickly set up disaster management posts, starting from evacuation posts, Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) and Public Kitchens in Ngetos Subdistrict, Nganjuk.
The Public Kitchen Coordinator, Iqbal, said that from the public kitchen, the Ministry of Social Affairs was able to prepare 3,000 servings of meals per day for evacuees. “1,000 meals for the morning, another 1,000 meals for the afternoon, and the last 1,000 meals for the evening. We provide 3 meals a day with a varied menu," said the Tagana personnel from Kediri Regency.
At the Public Kitchen post, Tagana personnel were seen in charge of preparing food side by side with the Human Resources (HR) of the Family Hope Program (PKH). 20 female PKH human resources helped pack rice and side dishes to be distributed to evacuees.
In addition to the public kitchen service, he added, Tagana's role in the landslide incident included helping the evacuation process of victims at landslide locations, collecting data on victims, and providing assistance in the form of mental strengthening for evacuees and children.
Meanwhile, LDP for disaster-affected children centered at the Evacuee Post at SDN 3 Ngetos was given by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Trauma Healing Team from the Social Worker Serve Unit of the "Antasena" Social Rehabilitation Center for Children in Need of Special Protection (BRSAMPK) in Magelang.
In addition, the "Soeharso" Social Rehabilitation Center in Solo also mobilized 5 medical teams, consisting of doctors, psychologists and psychotherapists, to treat seriously injured victims. Working closely with medical personnel from the Nganjuk District Health Center, they support the tasks of the Ngeos Health Center.

To ensure the handling and fulfillment of the basic needs of the landslide evacuees, Tuesday afternoon (16/2), Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited the evacuee camp to meet evacuees and share laughter with the children who were victims of landslides at the LDP post. Furthermore, Risma ensured that the basic needs of refugees were met by reviewing the activities of the Ministry of Social Affairs' public kitchen.
The reason the Trauma Healing Team and medical personnel were brought in from Central Java, said Risma, was because the Ministry of Social Affairs did not yet have a center (with social workers) in the East Java area. "When it happened yesterday, we immediately sent officers from Solo because we don't have a hall in East Java, so I left from Solo, and was shifted here," explained the former Surabaya Mayor.
Meanwhile, regarding the development of the condition of evacuees, including children, Risma received reports from assistance officers in the field, that their conditions were gradually improving. "If the children, the psychologist said, yesterday they were still traumatized. But, today, the trauma is no longer visible. They have started to cheer up. There are only 2 people being treated. According to the psychologist, the progress is good today," explained Risma in front of reporters.
As reported, high-intensity rains that have flushed Nganjuk Regency since Sunday (14/2) caused a landslide in Selopuro Hamlet, Ngetos Village, Ngetos District and buried a number of houses with 54 families or 186 people.
As of Tuesday afternoon (16/2), it was reported that from a total of 21 victims buried by landslides and had been declared missing, 14 victims had been found with details of 12 dead, 2 surviving, while 7 others were still in search efforts.
