SURABAYA (September 24, 2019) - Taman Candra Wilwatikta and Lake Ranu Grati in Pasuruan, and also the Sand Sea of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) in Probolinggo will be enlivened by 1,600 representatives of TAGANA from 34 provinces and contingents of athletes throughout Indonesia.
In addition to involving 1,600 Tagana personnel, the event which will be attended by the Minister of Social Affairs and the Governor of East Java is also attended by invited guests who were delegates from a number of countries in ASEAN, such as Malaysia, Myanmar, and Brunei Darussalam. Thousands of Tagana members were scheduled to take part in the Jamboree and Social Service for four days, from 25 to 28 September 2019.
The activity entitled 'Urip Iku Urup, Urup Kang Hanguripi' which meaning is 'life is on, life giving livelihood' is carried out as a form of appreciation from the Ministry of Social Affairs to all Tagana members for their contribution and hard work so far in disaster management in Indonesia.
In connection with the election of East Java as the host of the National Tagana Jamboree and Social Service in 2019, in order to finalize all the preparations and equipment needed later at the time of implementation, Head of Sub Directorate for Handling Natural Disaster Victims (PKBA) Directorate of Social Protection of Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA) at the Directorate General of Social Protection and Security, Iyan Kusmadiana, ensured direct preparation of these activities to take place safely and according to plan.
Carrying out the theme "Tagana Keeps Nature", one of the sessions will be filled by a number of tree planting activities in the Sand Sea area of Mount Bromo and plastic waste recycling.
This is in line with the statement of the Head of the East Java Province Social Service, Dr. Sukesi, who said that to utilize plastic waste recycling, the community could also exchange 10 plastic bottles with three tree seeds.
In the end, the whole series of activities is expected to be able to become a forum for increasing competency and mapping skills of Tagana members throughout Indonesia. In addition, this is one form of contribution in the form of socialization to the wider community in an effort to protect the environment.
