CIBINONG (March 6, 2020) - On various occasions, Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara emphasized his commitment to creating clean and good governance. This was also emphasized in the Minister's meeting with the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri, some time ago.

The Minister's direction was responded to quickly by the Ministry of Social Affairs, including the Inspectorate General. The Ministry of Social Affairs began concrete steps to form a Gratification Control Unit Team (UPG).

Inspector General Dadang Iskandar advised all officials and employees of the Ministry of Social Affairs to jointly strengthen the Minister's direction, by showing anti-corruption behavior as a culture at work.

"Anti-corruption behavior must be instilled in every employee, become a culture, even become a necessity of every employee of the Ministry of Social Affairs," said Dadang, in his remarks on Strengthening Gratification Control at the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (BBRVPD) in Cibinong, West Java, Friday (06/03/2020).

To the participants, Dadang also briefly explained an overview of gratuities. Such as the category of gratuities consisting of gratuities that must be reported and gratuities that are not required to be reported. Also, several ways to report the receipt or rejection of gratuities.

In addition, related to the duties and functions of the Inspectorate General as an Internal Supervisory Apparatus, Dadang also emphasized to all parties not to give any rewards to the audit team while carrying out tasks in the field. "To all work units within the Ministry of Social Affairs, I hope to always maintain a conducive work atmosphere so as to prevent various corrupt practices such as gratuities," he said.

This activity is a follow-up to the Joint Decree of the KPK Chairman, Head of Bappenas, Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, and Presidential Chief of Staff on Corruption Prevention Action 2019-2020. This activity is also a follow-up to the visit of KPK leader Firli Bahuri, Thursday, February 6, 2020, at the Ministry of Social Affairs office.

During the meeting, strengthening corruption prevention measures at the Ministry of Social Affairs was carried out through the Inspectorate General as a Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus with various necessary steps. 

In the Gratification Control Strengthening activity, the formation and determination of the UPG Team were scheduled. This team is tasked with receiving and following up on gratification reporting within the Cibinong BBRVPD.

In addition to forming and establishing the UPG, there was also a dissemination of gratification control delivered by the Inspector General, as well as the signing of a joint commitment to gratification control by all officials and employees of BBRVPD Cibinong which was also witnessed by the Inspector General.

The statement of joint commitment in the context of gratification control contains a promise not to give and receive gratuities, as well as an invitation to reject gratuities. In addition to signing a joint commitment, officials and employees of BBRVPD Cibinong also performed a yell of rejecting gratuities as a form of personal and joint commitment in the context of controlling gratuities.
