BALI (27 May 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs encourages services for People Needing Social Welfare Services (PPKS), including persons with sensory disabilities.
"I believe that there must be advantages behind the shortcomings," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini while inspecting the Mahatmiya Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Sensory Disabilities in Bali, Thursday (27/5/2021) morning.
The Social Minister said that the Center as a multi-service facility could function effectively and everyone could access social services without exception. That way, people needing social services did not need to leave the area.
"If there are families around here who need services outside the center’s tasks, do they have to go to other areas? Surely the parents would be reluctant, especially if the family is less fortunate,” said the Social Minister.
The Center needs to provide new skills training with new breakthroughs to enable the persons with disability to be able to support themselves.
The center is successful if it can make someone, especially the visually impaired, to be able to use assistive devices and be independent.
"In the future, I want to open new insights on how they are taught and oriented directly in the field in a normal life manner," said the Social Minister.
Every human being is given strengths and weaknesses by God, so it is necessary to maximize the advantages that are given to them with a strong will.
"Let all of us maximize the advantages that are passed on to us. Nothing is impossible. Everything is possible as long as you want it, "said the Social Minister.
The Social Minister's visit to the Mahatmiya Center in Bali
