DEPOK (September 12, 2024) — Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), in collaboration with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), provided Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) to vulnerable communities in Depok, West Java. The aid distribution coincided with a Specific Working Visit of the DPR RI during the First Session of the 2024-2025 Legislative Period. Rear Admiral (Ret.) Moekhlas Sidik, a Commission VIII member, symbolically handed over the aid, accompanied by Wahyu Dewanto, the Head of the Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center.
Wahyu Dewanto explained that the assistance included various forms. "There are practical tools for disability, support for basic living needs, entrepreneurship assistance, disaster relief supplies, and food packages for 41 beneficiaries," he remarked at the aid distribution site, Depok City Hall.
During the same event, Deputy Mayor of Depok Imam Budi Hartono expressed his appreciation to MoSA. "We extend our sincere thanks and high appreciation to the Ministry of Social Affairs for the programs provided. Many of these programs have greatly benefited recipients in Depok City," said Imam Budi Hartono.
One of the beneficiaries, Cucu Rohayati from Pasar Pal, Cimanggis, Depok, shared her gratitude. "I am very grateful for this assistance. It has been a great help to our family, especially for my daughter who needs a wheelchair," she said. Mrs Cucu, who works as a cleaner alongside her husband, found the aid to be a significant support.
Her gratitude followed after her daughter, Nurul Dewi Febriyanti Yusuf (21), received an adaptive wheelchair from MoSA. Nurul, who has suffered from physical and intellectual disabilities since birth, relies on a wheelchair for her daily activities. Before receiving the new aid, Nurul used an old wheelchair. In addition to the 3-in-1 wheelchair, she also received food packages from MoSA.
