LUMAJANG (11 December 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to provide humanitarian assistance and handling for the victims of the Mount Semeru hot cloud disaster in Lumajang Regency, East Java Province.

 

On Saturday (11/12) Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited the Main Command Post in Tirtosari Field, Penanggal Village, Candipuro District, who was accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Security, Robben Rico, greeted the children and provided stage 1 compensation for 25 heirs.

 

Update on disaster assistance and handling data from the Ministry of Social Affairs until December 10, 2021, at 06.30 WIB. First, making the Main Post for Disaster Management in the field of Social Protection which is integrated with the Penanggal Village Field.

 

Second, the deployment of Tagana to collect data on victims, evacuate victims to safe places, especially to vulnerable groups consisting of the elderly, children with disabilities, and other special groups.

 

Third, distributing logistics to meet the basic needs of the Semeru APG disaster victims sourced from the Central Warehouse, Social Rehabilitation Center Warehouse, and East Java Provincial Social Service Warehouse as well as direct shopping according to needs in the field.

 

Fourth, establishing Field Public Kitchens at 4 points to provide ready-to-eat food needs for refugees and carry out Psychosocial Support Services (LDP)

 

Fifth, to intervene in psychosocial support services aimed at restoring the psychosocial well-being of victims affected by the disaster

 

Sixth, collecting data as well as verifying and validating the heirs of victims of natural disasters to distribute grief compensation.

 

Meanwhile, the public kitchen service point in the field is located at the main Command Post in Penanggal Village which produces 2000 rice packs per day.

 

The Candipuro Village Field Post produces 6,000 packs per day. The Jarit Village Post produces 1,000 packs per day and at Sumber Urip Village Post 4,000 packs per day, a total of 13,000 packs.

 

For Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) 35 officers are deployed in 4 LDP posts and spread to other refugee points which are attended by 500-1000 refugee children/mothers every day.

Types of LDP services at the Main Command Post in Penanggal Village, Candipuro district, in the form of psychotherapy (mental catharsis, counseling, crisis intervention, life motivation; play therapy (magic, games and flying fox); spiritual therapy (recitation and istighosah); hypnotherapy (meditation), psychoeducation (motivation to learn again), and spiritual religion (religious motivation).

Disaster management activities are supported by the deployment of personnel, consisting of the Central Team of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Tagana from various regions in East Java, the LDP team, Sakti Peksos (Social Worker Service Unit), and Peace Pioneers with a total of 301 personnel.

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs has also provided humanitarian assistance, in the form of emergency response logistics worth Rp. 1,527,880,400; refugee environment equipment Rp 913,447,550; and compensation for stage 1 heirs (25 people x Rp 15 million) Rp 375 million, total assistance Rp 2,816,327,950.

Lumajang Regent Thoriqul Haq appreciated the visit of the Minister of Social Affairs at the Main Command Post in Tirtosari Field, Penanggal Village, Candipuro District, who continued to assist the handling of disaster victims, including compensation for victims who died.
