JAKARTA (29 June 2023) – The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) has distributed the qurban (sacrificial cattle) meat to the one who deserves (Mustahik) in the commemoration of Eid al-Adha in the year 1444 Hijri which falls on Thursday 19 June 2023. A total of 1,850 coupons have been distributed to be exchanged for qurban meat.
This year, the Al-Hikmah Mosque Sacrifice Committee of the Ministry of Social Affairs received 16 cows, 2 goats and 1 sheep for the qurban. The committee handed over the slaughtering to the Animal Cutting House (RPH) in Tapos, West Java.
The Acting Head of MoSA’s Secretariat-General Robben Rico stated that Eid al-Adha was a momentum to reflect on how incredible the cognizant of God owned by Prophet Abraham who got command to execute Prophet Ismail. In addition, Eid al- Adha also has social values in which the qurban meat is distributed to the poor.
“Idul Adha is our momentum to follow the example given by the Prophet Abraham. Qurban also has social values, because by sharing the qurban meat we share empathy with our other brothers and sisters. Qurban is very suggested because we can help each other and ease each other’s burdens,” he said.
The distribution of qurban meat is a series of commemorations of the Eid al-Adha in the year 1444 Hijri. Yesterday morning, the MoSA organized an Eid al-Adha prayer at the MoSA’s office with employees and neighbors.
The imam was Ahmad Sobari while the khateeb was Muhtadin. The prayers went solemn. After the prayer and sermon, the qurban was symbolically given to the committee.
The qurban meat was distributed to mustahik, including the Social Welfare Institution (LKS). ""If God wills, the qurban meat will be distributed to Non-State Civil Apparatus Government Employees (PPNPN), cleaning service staffs and security officers of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the 1st and 2nd group of State Civil Apparatus, citizens around the office and to beneficiaries in the Social Welfare Institution (LKS) that we prioritize," Robben said.
The head of the Kumala Foundation, Dindin Komarudin, expressed his gratitude that his institution was given the qurban meat. He said that all beneficiaries in his institution were happy.
“We are grateful that we have received a shipment of qurban meat from MoSA. We will distribute the meat to our 267 institutions in North Jakarta. Our institutions consist of a community of street children, a community with disabilities and an elderly community,” he said.
This occasion was attended by the acting head of MoSA’s Secretariat-General Robben Rico, high-leadership officials as well as heads of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
