JAKARTA (24 May 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) welcomed a delegation from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday afternoon (23/05). The KPK team was there to collect some data.

The KPK team's appearance was not preceded by notification. However, the KPK team was warmly met by Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini at her office. Next, the KPK team was granted access to obtain the intended data.

Senior Advisor to the Minister for Communications and Mass Media Don Rozano Sigit Prakoeswa stated that, in line with the direction of the Minister, MoSA is open and supports the KPK's law enforcement obligations.

"We are open and supportive of the KPK team's work in law enforcement. We are providing the broadest possible access based on their intention to visit the MoSA's office to acquire data," stated Don Rozano.

Don added that the KPK team went to the office of the Director General of Social Empowerment. "Here, they take the necessary documents and computers. In general, the KPK Team's operations function smoothly, and we cooperate," he stated.

Don highlighted Minister Risma's explanation of this matter from some months ago in his media statement. Don claimed that the matter currently being handled by the KPK is an alleged criminal act of corruption in the distribution of Rice Social Assistance for Beneficiary Families (KPM) under the 2020 Family Hope Program (PKH).

This case occurred before Risma was appointed Minister of Social Affairs on 23 December 2020. "According to the case's chronology, the last occurrence happened on 30 September 2020, three months before Mrs Risma was appointed. So the Minister is unaware of this case," Don explained.

Don ensured that the KPK team completed their duty without intervention from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The KPK team concluded their assignment by saying goodbye to the Minister of Social Affairs.
