JAKARTA (May 6th, 2020) – Grandma Yuliar (67), a resident of RT 12 RW 01 Kelurahan Cipete Utara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, received basic food assistance which was handed over directly by the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara.

When Juliari visited and brought assistance, the grandmother who was born in Padang, West Sumatera, admitted that she could not walk since two years ago and had lived in the capital city for more than 50 years.

“Have you been living here for a long time?” the Minister asked.

“It’s been almost 50 years,” she replied.

“Ma’am, I brought the basic food assistance from the President. Mr. Jokowi sends his greetings to you and your family, right now the situation is difficult, many people have been laid off, many have lost their jobs, hopefully, this will be useful, ma’am,” said the Minister while handing over the basic food.

Later, the father of two continued, “if there is a little excess, it is okay to give it to the neighbors, right? Share it so that everyone can enjoy it, hopefully, it will be useful for you and your family here. Be healthy, ma’am.”

When met after receiving basic food assistance from the Minister of Social Affairs, Efizal, her daughter, thanked the Minister, “The Social Affairs Minister gave the basic food from Mr. Jokowi, Mr. President, alhamdulillah we still get the blessing,” she said.

Efizal also prayed for President Jokowi to be given a long life and to always help people who are less fortunate like her.

“Thank you very much for your concern for the underprivileged people, hopefully, he will be given good health, long life, and hopefully, he can help underprivileged people like us,” she said.

I am a widow, she continued, my mother too, she has been bedridden for 2 years. Yes, he helps us because we are in an economic situation like this, we can share with others, we got this help, if we can share, we will share. “Yes, hopefully, he who cares for underprivileged people can be given a long life, always be healthy, and his fortune is blessed,” she added.

She admitted that this was the first time she met the Minister of Social Affairs. According to her, Juliari is a person who really mingles with underprivileged people.

“This is the first time meeting the Minister, alhamdulillah, he is a person who mingles and shares with underprivileged people. Hopefully, he will always be like this, not just here, not just because of a disaster only, hopefully, he will continue to care for the people who are in a slump,” she said.
