NORTH MUSI RAWAS (March 13rd 2020) - The Goes To School Social Worker activity initiated by Balai Anak "Alyatama" in Jambi not only touched formal schools but the Teaching and Learning Activity Center. Children from one of the Remote Indigenous Communities scattered in the Jambi, South Sumatra and West Sumatra regions, namely the Suku Anak Dalam, were the targets of this activity.
This time we reached out and interacted with SAD children in North Musi Rawas District, South Sumatra. Located in a multipurpose mess belonging to the North Musi Rawas Regency Social Services Agency, the activity was attended by 30 children who were chasing Package A and Package B.
Lifyarman, Head of the Social Assessment and Advocacy Section of the “Alyatama” Children's Center in Jambi, opened this activity. The theme raised at PGTS, namely "Let's Keep Cleanliness Together" was followed with high enthusiasm by the SAD children. "The children look very happy, because they rarely get this kind of thing, so this is a new experience for them," said Febri Sakti, a social worker in the district.
Not using complicated language, this activity is packaged in a fun form. Sarah, Dedi and Ratu took the tik-tok children together with 6 steps to wash their hands after getting the materials. One of the children is able to order proper and correct bathing procedures. In fact, many of them still don't know about the cleanliness of skin, hands and nails.
Happiness is reflected on the faces of the SAD children. The Goes To School Social Worker Team also gave some creative games, cheers and provided door prizes and gifts for them. "Our hopes are not grandiose, they want to follow until the end, now they know and are able to practice the things we teach, the achievements are extraordinary," said Sarah, the Social Worker of the Children's Center "Alyatama".
