BLBI “Abiyoso” Attends Workshop on Translation and Manuscript Editing
BANDUNG (December 14th 2019) – Editors speech book of The Indonesian Braille Literacy Center (BLBI) "Abiyoso" in Cimahi, Erna Kania and Ema Tresna became active participants in the Workshop on Translation and Manuscript Editing organized by the Pikiran Rakyat Daily.
Resource persons in the activity consisted of Imam Jahrudin Priyanto (Pikiran Rakyat Daily), Dyah Kusumastuti (International Women Institute), Hermin Djajaprawira (Lecturer at Bandung Islamic University), Meita L Sujana (Widyatama University Lecturer), Irwan Sarbeni and Yeni Suryani (Lecturer of Surya Kencana Cianjur University).
Topics are carried out through exposure techniques and discussions on technical mastery of manuscript editing, especially translation texts and understanding the theory and philosophy of translation. The fact that translation is an attempt to convey meaning from source language to target language as precisely and accurately as possible also touches the social and cultural environment of the target language user community.
An important note that must be considered in editing and translation is to master the language and be adapted to the situation and conditions of language use.
