BLBI "Abiyoso" Comes to Literacy Camp Activities
SUMEDANG (17 November 2019) - The Indonesian Braille Literacy Center (BLBI) "Abiyoso" Cimahi attended the West Java Literacy Camp organized by the West Java Community Reading Park Forum (FTBM). This activity, which is also called a jamboree between managers and literacy activists, is in the form of exchange, information, knowledge, experiences and thoughts about literacy.
In this activity, apart from being a participant and resource person, BLBI "Abiyoso" Cimahi also featured Mobile Braille Library Car Services to introduce braille letters to the campers. The camp participants, committee members and other resource persons were very enthusiastic about braille and they were excited to want to know, learn and also collaborate with BLBI "Abiyoso" Cimahi regarding braille literacy.
Another resource person who attended this activity was Maman Suherman who is a writer, literacy activist and also a note taker on the television program Indonesia Lawak Klub (ILK). Maman also visited the mobile library belonging to the BLBI "Abiyoso" Cimahi.
This activity was held at Kiarapayung Camping Ground, Jatinangor, Sumedang. A total of 200 participants consisting of Community Reading Gardens (TBM) managers, school literacy activists, lecturers, teachers, library staff, students, and the general public, literacy activists attended this activity.
There are various activities at the literacy camp with the theme "Literacy for All", namely discussions, workshops, exhibitions, storytelling, art performances, and bonfires. This event is supported by the Sumedang Regency Government, Padjajaran University and various other parties.
