BLBI "Abiyoso" Introduces Braille in HDI Commemoration
JAKARTA (December 3, 2019) - Commemoration of International Disability Day (HDI) 2019 was held by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Senayan Jakarta on December 1st to 3rd 2019. The Summit was attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Ma'ruf Amin and the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P Batubara and invited guests.
At the event all participants who were persons with disabilities from various regions as well as foundations and social welfare institutions were present to commemorate their holidays.
All social rehabilitation centers for persons with disabilities within the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia opened exhibition stands along with various companies and foundations as stakeholders.
The Indonesian Braille Literacy Center (BLBI) "Abiyoso" is certainly present at every international disability day commemoration and opens a braille book exhibition stand with props for introducing braille letters for visitors who want to learn. In addition BLBI "Abiyoso" also carries a mobile library car.
On this occasion, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia visited the BLBI exhibition stand "Abiyoso" to see the Braille Al-Qur'an. Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs also visited the hall stand and read the braille book by one of the blind employees with disabilities at BLBI "Abiyoso" who is the editor of the Braille echo magazine produced by Balai.
