JAKARTA (9 April 2020) - Ministry of Social Affairs as the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 received the return of 108 migrant workers from Malaysia through Social Rehabilitation Center for Prostitution (BRS Watunas) Mulya Jaya in Jakarta at 9.30 pm.
These migrant workers are Indonesian Migrant Citizens who previously worked in Malaysia but due to lockdown regulations to prevent COVID-19, limited access to work, and incomplete documents from some migrant workers, they must be returned home to Indonesia.
BRS Watunas Mulya Jaya will carry out quarantine period for the next 14 days following the health procedures recommended by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health.
BRS Watunas Mulya Jaya also provided some facilities for the workers. There were female dormitories, male dormitories, dining rooms, medical rooms, toiletries, worship equipment, vitamins, a sink in each hall area, hand sanitizers and face masks.
The Head of BRS Watunas Mulya Jaya, Juena Sitepu, said that the health condition of the workers will be monitored every day. "As a part of the Ministry of Social Affairs, we have prepared everything needed during the quarantine period. This also includes monitoring the health conditions of each worker with our medical and non-medical officers stand by," Juena said.
This activity was confirmed to have gone through health procedures such as body temperature checks, handwashing, disinfecting the whole area of BRS Watunas Mulya Jaya, and physical distancing.
