JAMBI (25 November 2019) - Two Social Workers and Social Counselors of Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who need Special Protection (BRSAMPK) “Alyatama” in Jambi attended and greeted 20 representative students of SMK Dharma Bhakti 4 Jambi City in the morning. Not only greeting, they present at the event to communicate, provide information, educate and motivate students to prevent juvenile delinquency.
Juvenile delinquency is a theme raised in the activities packaged in "Peksos Goes To School". This is a hot issue and it is important to find an immediate solution through preventive activities. Vocational high schools are targeted because teenagers are now more active at school than at home. This is also done to increase self-awareness of all parties in the school against the impact of juvenile delinquency.
"When you want to act, you have to think carefully about the impacts and consequences for yourself, and the impact will also involve your family, so from now on let's stay away from things that can ruin your future starting from now on," said Ratu as Social Counselor.
Elyadi, as a Social Worker, also revealed the results of research related to violence starting from the data, the perpetrators and the impacts. "It turns out that of all types of violence, the main perpetrators are peers, therefore you have to be careful in associating and choosing friends," said Elyadi.
After giving material related to juvenile delinquency, the students were given a post test to assess their understanding after receiving the material. It is hoped that students who attend representing their friends can become agents of change in schools to prevent the occurrence of juvenile delinquency.
