BRSAMPK "Toddopuli" Accelerates the Realization of Children's Social Rehabilitation Assistance

MAKASSAR (April 27th 2020) - Head of BRSAMPK "Toddopuli" in Makassar, Christiana Junus, said "Distribution of children's social rehabilitation assistance to 1050 children in 7 provinces, namely South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Papua and West Papua will be done through a child's account. The number of children receiving social assistance will not be the same in every province Adjusted to the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) sent by the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation which is verified and validated by the Social Service, supervisor,  Social Worker Service Unit through Vicon with Regional Coordinator Social Assistance Team BRSAMPK "Toddopuli" in Makassar.

The distribution of this social assistance fund will be disbursed soon considering the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia.

Through a video conference attended by BRSAMPK "Toddopuli" Region in Makassar, the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation Ministry of Social Affairs, Provincial Social Service, Social Worker Service Unit (Sakti Peksos) and supervisors, as representatives of 43 Child Social Welfare Institutions (LKSA) partners of Ministry of Social Affairs  RI, participants received technical instructions on the process of distributing social assistance from the Director of Social Rehabilitation for Children Ministry of Social Affairs, Kanya Eka Santi and Sri Nuriah Syahrir from the BNI Mattoangin Office.

In her presentation, Kanya Eka Santi explained that children's social rehabilitation assistance program is a program of Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs to improvesocial functioning of children and families. The goal is to support fulfillment of a decent life, strengthen child care, increase capabilities and implement therapy for families and children. This assistance is provided to Children Needing Special Protection (AMPK), Children Needing Social Function Development (AMPFS), Children Against the Law (ABH) as well. The source of funding for Social Assistance comes from the APBN inDIPA BRSAMPK "Toddopuli" in Makassar.

Kanya emphasized "The value of social rehabilitation assistance for children that will be received by each child is IDR 1.000.000 million consisting of five hundred thousand rupiah for aid and another five hundred thousand rupiah can be used for childcare, family support and therapy. The aid is intended, related to COVID-19 Pandemic. So that assistance is expected can be used to purchase immune supplements, personal protective equipment such as masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves".

In addition to obtaining material on distribution and reporting mechanism, participants also received latest information from BNI regarding the process of disbursing Children's Social Rehabilitation Assistance funds. Sri Nuriah explained that BNI has accommodated aid funds of 1.05 billion since April 20, 2020, and currently in process of checking and creating children's accounts. So that in not long enough, the process of distributing aid can be carried out.

Hopefully after disbursement of social assistance funds, LKSA will use and realize these funds accordance with technical guidelines that have been determined by Ministry of Social Affairs, accompanied by social worker service unit and supervised by the local and Provincial Social Services.
