JAKARTA (April 9th 2020) - The Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Children of the Ministry of Social Affairs has carried out the socialization of the TePSA Call Center Service 1500771, which aims to provide information on psychosocial support services and temporary care for children and families of victims of COVID-19 who need access to services.

The Social Worker Service Unit (Sakti Peksos) in the Jabodetabek area simultaneously socialized TePSA in collaboration with the COVID-19 pandemic referral hospital. Today, Sakti Peksos has conducted outreach at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Mintohardjo Hospital, Friendship Hospital, Sulianti Saroso Hospital, Fatmawati Hospital, POLRI Hospital, Pasar Minggu Hospital and Athlete's Village.

The rapid transmission of the COVID-19 outbreak has a direct effect on children. Some children's problems arise including the increased risk of neglect and lack of parental or substitute care, increased psychosocial pressure from the direct impact of COVID-19 on children / families or fear and inability to overcome difficulties, and the vulnerability of children to become victims of violence, including sexual violence, abuse, physical and emotional. Children of ODP, PDP and OTG parents are vulnerable to experiencing psychosocial problems.

TePSA is a special telephone line for children, which functions to provide telecounseling services for children with problems, complaints, including emergency response services and referrals when needed.

TePSA receives reports related to what happens to children, such as violence, neglect, disability, and other children's problems, including seeking protection, child care and psychosocial support for children and families, as well as care referrals.
