Extreme Weather Phenomenon, Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes Social Aid in Lanny Jaya
PAPUA (August 1, 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs moved quickly to distribute social assistance to residents of the Kwiyawage District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Province who were affected by the natural phenomenon of hail that lasted for almost 2 weeks. The types of social assistance that have been distributed are 2.8 tons of rice, 500 packages of basic necessities, 500 pairs of children's clothes, 500 pairs of adult clothes and construction of shelter tents at three location points, namely; tents for the Gidi Church, tents for the Baptist Church and tents for the Kingmi Church.
The distribution of social assistance continues to be carried out to affected communities, assisted by the District Government. Lanny, police officers, religious leaders and the Kwiyawage community. As for the additional logistical assistance distributed (August 1, 2022) is 1000 blankets, 1000 packages of ready-to-eat food and 500 packages of children's food.
