MALANG (August 13, 2023) - Financial Literacy Training and Workshops for PENA Beneficiaries (PM) and PENA Companions at the PENA Clinic in Malang Regency, East Java, Sunday (13/8).

In this activity, PMs attended Skills and Entrepreneurship Training for MSMEs in Batik Patchwork Crafts and MSME for Pasteurization of Electric Milk and Vacuum Frying of Fruit Chips. The training was filled in and guided by resource persons from the Integrated ASTRA Spirit Appreciation Recipients for (SATU) Indonesia Awards. Namely, the ASTRA Appreciation is given to the nation's children who always benefit the community in five fields, namely Health, Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology, as well as a group category representing these five fields.

Anjani Si Batik Bantengan collaborated with Memossa by Feby Ayusta to provide material on the use of patchwork batik combined with patchwork denim. The PMs did not only get material exposure but also the practice of making clothes from unused batik and denim rags. The instructor provides materials on cutting cloth and sewing, how to give a touch of variety and creativity in making clothes. The training continued with a fashion show for the PMs who used sewn clothes and the creations of each group.

Hadi Apriliawan, the initiator and inventor of the modern electricity-based pasteurization machine, provided material on technology or machines that can help MSME businesses. In the training, Hadi directly demonstrated an electric milk pasteurization machine and a fruit chip vacuum frying machine. In this session, the Minister's Special Staff for Communication and Mass Media, Don Rozano Sigit also provided motivation to PMs so that they would not be tempted by online loans (Pinjol) in running their businesses. As well as keeping records of the business being done so that it can calculate the capital and profits earned.

In other classes, PENA assistants such as PKH assistants, and TKSK, receive training related to Financial Literacy. Financial planning material was provided by the Minister's Special Advisor for the Need for Social Welfare Services and Potential Social Welfare Resources, Luhur Budijarso, and Financial Management material was provided by the Minister's Special Staff for Empowerment and Handling the Poor Doddi Madya Judanto.
