KENDARI (December 9th 2019) - In order to increase the knowledge of the administrators of the Elderly Social Welfare Institution (LKSLU) regarding the requirements and accreditation process for the LKSLU, the Elderly Social Rehabilitation Workshop (LRSLU) "Minaula" in Kendari held a LKSLU Accreditation Mechanism Socialization Activity with the theme "Towards Professional and Independent Institutions”. This activity was held at the Horizon Kendari Hotel on December 7th to 9th 2019.

Before getting material related to Accreditation, participants first get inspiration about the happiness in managing LKSLU. Syamsuddin, as the Head of LRSLU "Minaula" Kendari in his material emphasized that happiness is very much needed in managing LKSLU. "With happiness we are more sensitive to the elderly and of course happiness is the key to successfully managing LKSLU," he concluded at the end of the material.

Participants get knowledge from sources related to the flow and process of the LKSLU accreditation stages directly from the BALKS assessors. In particular, the LKSLU Management also carried out the Practice of Filling in the LKSLU Accreditation Instrument led by an assessor from BALKS. Not only that, participants also got an understanding of the importance of LKSLU in the policy of the Elderly Social Rehabilitation Program (Progres LU).

Participants in the activity consisted of representatives of the Social Services Office of Southeast Sulawesi Province, District / City Social Services in Southeast Sulawesi Province, LKSLU administrators in Southeast Sulawesi Province, and 29 senior professional assistants.

This activity was responded well by the participants, because it was considered very positive. This is as stated by Hikmah Syafiuddin, a representative from the North Buton Regency Social Service. "I think this kind of activity is the first time it has been implemented and is very beneficial, especially for us as district governments," said Syafiuddin.
