Minister of Social Affairs Expects Media to Help Disseminate the Ministry of Social Affairs Program

JAKARTA (29 November 2019) - The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, gave a speech at the Dialogue Forum of the Minister of Social Affairs with the Head of Media Editors at Hotel Aryaduta, Jakarta. The Minister of Social Affairs said that the Ministry of Social Affairs has national priority programs that can contribute greatly to reducing poverty. These programs need to be disseminated by the media to the wider community.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that the Ministry of Social Affairs must keep trying to reduce the poverty rate. "I want to convey the President's mandate that the Ministry of Social Affairs must continue to strive to reduce the poverty rate. The target is that 2020 the poverty rate can fall to 9% or even 8.5% from 9.40%," explained Juliari P. Batubara.

So in this activity, the Minister of Social Affairs said that the media should continue to assist in the publication of the Ministry of Social Affairs' programs. "Hopefully, media friends will help us productively by providing input in reporting and strengthening our programs at the Ministry of Social Affairs," said Juliari P. Batubara. The Minister of Social Affairs also thanked the media for the good cooperation so far. "We really believe that our success is due to media interference," concluded Juliari P. Batubara.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Hartono Laras, said that this event was a gathering place with media partners. "We hope that the agenda of the Ministry of Social Affairs will become a media agenda as well, so that people are aware of social welfare programs," said Hartono Laras.

This event was also attended by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Edi Suharto and other echelon I officials. A total of 64 people attended, consisting of 28 Heads of Media Editors, 21 High Officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and 15 employees of the Public Relations Bureau which is also as the event organizer.
