JAKARTA (March 12, 2020) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat accompanied by the Director of Child Social Rehabilitation, Kanya Eka Santi followed up the homicide of a 5-year-old child in Sawah Besar area by visiting the perpetrator NF at Kramatjati Police Hospital. This visit was to see NF current condition and ensure that the inspection process run well.

Today, Director General of Social Rehabilitation met with the perpetrator to provide assistance as well. "We are here with the Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection, Arist Merdeka Sirait, to ensure that the police have made an effort to check the social psychological condition of the perpetrator through Kramat Jati Police Hospital. The Police have really paid attention, made a proper assessment, and attended the child properly," said Harry.
Arist Merdeka Sirait added that NF got separated room in Kramat Jati Police Hospital. "NF has her own room. The hospital provided papers and pencils for her to draw because it is her hobby," said Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection.
During the inspection process, the Social Ministry Social Worker continued to provide assistance for both families: the victim's and the perpetrator's. This assistance would continue during the judicial process. "Including the judicial process, if necessary. We have a safe house in Balai Handayani Jakarta. She can convey her feelings and explain what actually happened to the Social Workers there," concluded Director General of Social Rehabilitation.

"The community must ensure good parenting patterns, because children are currently exposed to many technologies such as games, films and others," said Harry.
