Ministry of Social Affairs Provides Handling for PMIB from Jember and Situbondo

SUKABUMI (26 November 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Phala Martha" Sukabumi is handling Problematic Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMIB) including the repatriation process, social rehabilitation services, to empowerment.

The Social Worker of "Phala Martha" since November 4, 2021, has joined the PMIB Integrated Repatriation Team who was quarantined at Wisma Atlet Pademangan.

Together with the Wisma Athlete Medical Team, the Social Worker conducts an assessment of PMIB showing symptoms of mental health disorders, as recommended by the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI).

Based on the results of the assessment, 4 PMIBs were recommended by Social Workers to receive mental health treatment at the Police Hospital, which would then be continued with the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) service at the "Phala Martha" Center, while preparing for reintegration with the family.

After being declared complete treatment by the Jakarta Police Hospital Team, PMIB on behalf of HR and DK who came from Jember and Situbondo was picked up by Social Workers from the Police Hospital and handed over referrals for social recovery and rehabilitation services at the "Phala Martha" Center.

HR and DK get services at Phala Martha for 8 days. Social Workers also carry out comprehensive assessments and communicate with families, discuss plans to support HR and DK empowerment.

On November 25, 2021, HR and DK were reintegrated with their respective families in East Java Province.

HR is a stroke survivor. He received assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs ATENSI services in the form of meeting the needs of food, clothing, wheelchairs, and entrepreneurship for free-range chickens worth Rp5,266,000.

Meanwhile, DK gets Rp. 4,602,000 to fulfill food, clothing and open a grocery shop at his home.

The handover of PMIB repatriation and ATENSI assistance in Jember and Situbondo was attended and witnessed by the Manpower Office, Social Office, and local officials.

The family thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for facilitating their return and providing assistance to the family.
