KUPANG REGENCY (June 23, 2021) - The third day, Wednesday (23/6), the NTT Province Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) Competency Improvement Activity in Naibonat, Kupang Regency, was filled with Water Rescue and Vertical Rescue Knowledge and Skills involving instructors from National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Vertical Rescue Indonesia (VRI).

The knowledge and skills of Water Rescue and Vertical Rescue are needed by Tagana volunteers when facing an emergency, especially in water and at altitude, so this training aims to equip Tagana personnel to take action on victims before the SAR team arrives to provide help.

Water Rescue is assistance to victims of disasters or accidents who are in the water. Meanwhile, Vertical Rescue is the rescue of disaster victims who are at a height, as well as the bottom of a canyon or lower area.
