SIKKA REGENCY (June 23, 2021) - In a disaster event that causes the loss of victims so that a search and rescue operation (SAR) is carried out, Tagana is often involved in these operations, both on land and at sea, including in areas difficult height. Training in water rescue and rescue at altitude (Vertical Rescue) is important to equip Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) with the correct techniques when they are involved in SAR operations.

From Wednesday morning to evening (23/6), Tagana NTT received training materials as well as training practices for Medical First Responder (MFR), splints/fractures in bones, Water Rescue (Defend and Release), and Operation of Outboard Motors (Mopel) on inflatable boats from Maumere Basarnas instructor directly in the open waters on Tanjung Kajuwulu Beach, Sikka Regency.

In addition to learning rescue techniques in water, on the same day, Wednesday (23/6), 160 Tagana NTT in Sikka Regency also carried out rescue practices in high altitude areas with cliff locations in the Kajuwulu Beach area, with a gradual method.

In the Vertical Rescue practice area, Tagana was invited to apply the theory of techniques that had been learned at the previous night's meeting, such as climbing and descending techniques, including saving victims, by prioritizing safety and teamwork.
