BENGKULU (February 25th 2020) - Following up on the social reports from the Social Worker of Bengkulu City, Jerikson as a social worker and Dedi as the administrator of the Social Assessment and Advocacy Section responded to cases against children in conflict with the law. The case response team was accompanied by the Head of Social Rehabilitation of the Bengkulu City Social Services Agency, Syaifuddin Zuhri and Sakti, Social Workers of Bengkulu City, namely Joti Mahulfa and Hilda.

In the response to this case, there were two different cases, namely a child with the initials RA who had committed theft with a weighting done with his friends. This is done under the influence of liquor and glue consumption. In this case the child is under 12 years of age and must be handed over to the family.

Seeing this case and conducting an assessment of the family, the officer suggested that the child be rehabilitated first at the "Alyatama" Children's Center in Jambi considering that the child had consumed drinks, medicine and glue. Besides that, an important consideration for children to be rehabilitated was to temporarily evacuate children from their family environment where their mother and older siblings are positive for TBC.

Contrary to the previous case, the child with the initials MR was a victim of sexual harassment. It seems that the child is quite traumatized, this can be seen every time he tells a case that he has experienced, the child keeps crying and his eyes look blank.

Since this incident, based on the statement of the child's family, it is difficult to concentrate and looks more quiet than usual. To restore their enthusiasm and psychosocial mental condition, officers recommend children to get advanced rehabilitation services at the "Alyatama" Children's Center. Hopefully that after completing the rehabilitation program, children can live their lives more enthusiastically without any shadows on their past.
