The Joy of the Elderly Festival at BRSLU "Budhi Dharma"
BEKASI (December 17th 2019) - Wife of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Hj. Wury Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by the wife of the Minister of Social Affairs, Grace Batubara, attended the Elderly Festival in the framework of the 91st Mother's Day 2019 at the Social Rehabilitation Center for Elderly (BRSLU) "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi. On this occasion, members of the Working Cabinet Era Solidarity Action Organization (OASE) were also present to celebrate the event.
In his speech, Hj. Wury Ma'ruf Amin said that a mother has an important role in shaping the character of her children in the future. Apart from environmental factors, good and bad behavior of children can also be caused by the education of their parents, especially mothers. "In building or shaping children's character, several things are needed, namely communication, invite the children to talk. Then take care of the behavior, because the children must imitate the behavior of their parents and finally recite prayers to our children," said Hj. Wury Ma'ruf Amin.
On this occasion also Hj. Wury Ma'ruf Amin invites all of us especially from the family and the surrounding community to provide support and attention to the elderly, by creating a friendly environment so that they are comfortable living their lives.
Grace Batubara in her report stated that the Elderly Festival is a form of appreciation for the dedication and wisdom they have given to their family, community and nation. "To coincide with Mother's Day 2019 this time, as a form of appreciation and our gratitude to the elderly, especially women, we present this festival as a vehicle to actualize themselves and the abilities of the elderly," Grace concluded.
