Concerned about the Impact of COVID-19, PRS Bekasi Social Department Employee Cooperative Distributes Basic Food Aid
BEKASI (April 23rd 2020) - As part of caring, sharing and helping others, the Bekasi "Pangudi Luhur" BRSEGP Employee Cooperative or better known as the Bekasi "Depsos PRS" Employee Cooperative, distributes basic food assistance to communities around the Balai, especially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cooperative, which was founded in 1982, has spent part of its profits for basic food assistance totaling 100 packages containing 5 kg of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, 1 bottle of syrup, 1 can of large sardines, 1 box of tea bags, 10 packs of instant noodles, 1 condensed milk and 2 packs of biscuits. In addition to the distribution of basic foods, the recipients were given masks, because many of the recipients who came did not wear masks.
In his direction, the Head of the Balai BRSEGP "Pangudi Luhur" Bekasi, Kokom Komalawati said that the distribution of basic foods is our effort as part of citizens who care for others, especially for the communities around the Balai who are affected by COVID-19. The cooperative, which is an “authentic” Indonesian business entity, our ancestral heritage must also be able to play a role in handling social problems, especially as civil servants from the Ministry of Social Affairs who really understand social issues, said Kokom.
During its establishment, the Bekasi "Depsos PRS" Employee Cooperative was able to develop its business capital and make it prosperous with the remaining business results (SHU) that members get each year. Currently, the Bekasi "Depsos PRS" Employee Cooperative has a capital of approximately 2.1 billion in total members as many as 73 people consisting of ASN, Honor, and the surrounding community.
