JAKARTA (November 21, 2019) - Director General for Poverty Handling (Dirjen PFM), Andi ZA Dulung said that for next year there will be no increase in the number of Beneficiary Families (KPM) of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), but it will increase the number of the original aid index. each KPM received assistance of Rp110,000 / month, increasing to Rp150,000 / month.

"This increase is not only aimed at reducing their spending, another goal is to form them to be more independent," said the Director General of PFM in an exclusive interview at the CNBC Profit event in Jakarta (21/11).

The Director General of PFM asked KPM BPNT that BPNT assistance must be spent immediately within three months. It is intended that the funds that have been received can be spent in nearby e-warongs to encourage the rotation of the surrounding economy. "This assistance (BPNT) must be spent no later than 3 months," said the Director General of PFM.

The Director General of PFM revealed that another goal of increasing the index of aid recipients was so that BPNT KPMs could spend on food other than eggs and rice. "The increase in the index in the future is intended so that KPM can purchase other foodstuffs apart from rice and eggs. Of course, these other foodstuffs will be determined based on the rules being made by the Ministry of Social Affairs," concluded the Director General of PFM.

In closing, the Director General of PFM also explained that to improve BPNT services in distribution next year, the Ministry of Social Affairs is collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Information in improving and adding networks to blank spot locations where telecommunications and internet networks are not available. "We will also work with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to add and improve network quality to reduce blank spot points," explained the Director General of PFM.
