Facing the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes Logistic Assistance to LKS for Persons with Disabilities

BEKASI (April 4th 2020) - Handling COVID-19 in an inclusive manner, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation distributed logistical assistance to the Disability Social Welfare Institution (LKS) for Persons with Disabilities (PD)," said the Director of RSPD, Eva Rahmi Kasim.

"We must be grateful that in times of difficult situations due to COVID-19, community institutions / LKS in the field of Social Rehabilitation received basic food assistance from the PSKBA Directorate for the support of the Minister of Social Affairs, the Director General of Social Empowerment and the Director of PSKBA. As many as 700 packages were distributed, so that the logistical aid distribution process ran well, and worked well among officers, the institution / LKS was given the understanding that there should be no excessive demands, the distribution process must be orderly and accountable according to the SOP of the PSKBA Directorate," said Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat.

Furthermore, according to Harry, "If a cardboard of food is needed to be sprayed with disinfectant, make sure logistical assistance reaches the rightful person, if necessary please involve the local District / City Social Services Agency by avoiding ceremonial events and make sure the officers in the field always wear PPE and keep their distance".

Logistical assistance was handed over by several representatives of the RSPD Directorate, namely Adhi, Anang, Nyoman, Eko and Suparyono to several PD LKS.

One of the PD LKS who received logistical assistance, represented by Sujono, the Head of the YPBL Panti "Nusantara" Depok, said "Thank you for the basic food assistance for PPKS at the PD LKS / LKS in Jabodetabek for the YPLB Nusantara Institution / LKS, we will use this assistance for the welfare of PD in our home," said Sujono.

"In the distribution of logistical assistance, we have data on 20 LKS PD throughout Jabodetabek who will receive the logistical assistance," said the Head of the ODMGJ Section, Anang.

Apart from the RSPD Directorate, the logistical assistance delivery process was also attended by the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Children, the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Elderly, the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Victims of Drug Abuse, and the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Social Tuna and Human Trafficking Victims.
