JAKARTA (February 17th 2020) - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin greet and have fun with the children in their activities at the Handayani Social Rehabilitation Center for Children Needing Special Protection (BRSAMPK), Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Monday morning, February 17th 2020.


With great enthusiasm, the First Lady who was accompanied by Mrs. Wury and Seto Mulyadi then started her activities by greeting the children who were present, "Who are we?"


"Indonesian child!" said those who were not less enthusiastic.


In the meeting with Ms. Iriana and Mrs. Wury along with a number of members of the Organization of Solidarity Actions of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet Era (OASE KIM) the children expressed their hopes and dreams that were listened directly by the First Lady.

 

"My hope is to make my parents happy and to go to school as high as possible," said Safitri, who was conveyed via video at the event.


Meanwhile, in her speech, Grace Batubara, who is one of the OASE KIM administrators, stated that protection for children must be a joint commitment of all parties so that they can grow into the hope of nation in the future.


"We all agree that children are the buds of nation who will become the next generation. We all want our children to grow up healthy, smart, and qualified. So it is important for the central and regional governments to provide guidance and at the same time develop children's potential in the midst of children's limitations." he said.


During her arrival at the event, the First Lady was greeted with a presentation of the saman dance by students of SDIT Granada Karawaci before the event. Previously, the First Lady and Mrs. Wury were also welcomed by dozens of children dressed in traditional clothes who gave flowers while singing the song "Selamat Datang Ibu".


The meeting with the First Lady was held by the Ministry of Social Affairs as a reminder to all parties that Indonesian children have the right to always be healthy, happy and prosperous.
