BEKASI (February 13rd 2020) - Takuyo Ito of AI Company accompanied by Z. Yahya from LPK Massaihara had the opportunity to visit Social Rehabilitation Center for Elderly (BRSLU)  "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi for a dialogue on elderly handling and see directly.

Takuyo Ito said that the handling of elderly in Japan is mostly done by the private sector, while the government continues to provide support with the help of handling funds. At the orphanage, which is organized by Takuyo Ito and his family, it is described as being handled in a hotel with luxurious facilities and modern technology standards. Even bathing facilities can be done by pressing a button so the elderly can enjoy a clean and pleasant shower in the bathtube. For the use of robotic bathing machines, it requires training for 1 (one) month for the HR of the care giver. Their principle is that there is a tool that must be trained to use the tool until it is proficient in using it. It was also conveyed that in Japan the ratio of officers or caregivers to the elderly is 1 (one) to 1 (one) where 1 (one) caregiver handles 1 (one) elderly person.

Representing Pujiyanto, the Head of BRSLU "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi, Siti Rohmah Puji Astuti welcomed and said that the BRSLU "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi is a Technical Implementation Unit owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia that provides CONTINUED social rehabilitation for the community. elderly, while basic social rehabilitation is the responsibility of the Regional Government. BRSLU Budhi Dharma Bekasi as proof that the Government is present in the handling of the elderly in Indonesia. Its coverage area includes 16 provinces covering all of Sumatra and Java.

Head of Social Rehabilitation Services Division Indrawan said "we are very happy with this visit because we also learn from Japanese technology for the treatment of elderly people and that we provide are potential elderly."

"Those who are currently in the guest house / cottages are those whom we provide for Case Response and Temporary Shelter. Treatment time at BRSLU is a maximum of 6 (six) months with therapy such as physical therapy, spiritual therapy, psychosocial therapy and livelihood therapy. The maximum time is 6 months. If we find our family we return to the family and if we do not have a family / neglected, we refer to it to be sent to an orphanage belonging to the Regional Government," continued Indra.

After the dialogue continued, direct visits to service facilities included visiting the Social Rehabilitation Service Laboratory and Social Assessment and Advocacy Laboratory, Women's Elderly House, to the kitchen, visiting elderly Junaidi's Case Response who showed his expertise in painting. The visit continued to the Social Care room where the elderly bedridden get special treatment.
