Commission VIII of the House Distributes IDR 8 Billion Social Assistance to the Community of Pariaman City in Specific Working Visit

PARIAMAN (July 6, 2024) - As part of the Specific Working Visit of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR-RI), Ministry of Social Affairs together with Commission VIII of the House handed over assistance to beneficiaries at the Pariaman Mayor's Hall, Pariaman City, West Sumatra Province.

The activity was held with the presence of Deputy Chairperson of Commission VIII of the House and Chairperson of the Specific Working Visit Team Marwan Dasopang along with 7 other members of Commission VIII

Marwan Dasopang, in his remarks, conveyed his determination to eradicate poverty "As many as 10 million poor families need to create productive businesses to get out of poverty. West Sumatra has the opportunity to reduce poverty and we want to spread it to several regions," said Marwan.

After the audience, Ministry of Social Affairs together with Commission VIII of the House handed over assistance symbolically. The distribution of Social Assistance from Ministry of Social Affairs with total assistance of IDR 8,542,545,949, including PKH assistance Phase I & II IDR 5,717,074,828, basic food assistance phase IV for 4,233 beneficiaries IDR 2,539,800,000, ATENSI Assistance for Fulfilling a Decent Life of 225 beneficiaries IDR 215,370,696, ATENSI Entrepreneurship Assistance for 12 beneficiaries IDR 50,095,000 and Assistance for assistive devices for 12 Disabled and Elderly beneficiaries IDR 20,205,425.

Vigo (22) one of the beneficiaries is very grateful for the entrepreneurship assistance received "Thank God now I am happy, because I did everything manually before I got this assistance. Thank you for always supporting us who have shortcomings and giving us encouragement," said Vigo.  Present at the event, the Head of the Specific Working Visit Team of Commission VIII of the House Marwan Dasopang, Head of Pangudi Luhur Bekasi Integrated Center Wahyu Dewanto, Head of Pariaman City Social Service Muhamad Roem, Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Social Service Syaifullah and other members of Commission VIII of the House.
