JAKARTA (January 15th 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara admires the various facilities and services at the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who need Special Protection (BRSAMPK) "Handayani" Jakarta. In the future, Minister of Social Affairs Juliari wants this children's center to be developed so that more children can be reached by social rehabilitation services.
Arriving at the location, Minister of Social Affairs Juliari accompanied by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation Edi Suharto toured a number of facilities in the hall and chatted with the beneficiaries. The first place visited by the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari is an art gallery which is an exhibition center for the work of the Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS). Furthermore, Minister of Social Affairs Juliari moved to the Children's Social Protection House (RPSA) Shelter.
In this place, the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari had a dialogue with the child victim of the criminal act of trafficking referred to the Polda Metro Jaya who had just arrived in the early hours (15/1). After visiting the shelter, the Minister of Social Affairs saw a child complaint facility, namely TePSA (Telpon Sahabat Anak).
TePSA is a 24-hour hotline that receives complaints of child problems under the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation. “The service is great. If we see, there are quite a lot of problems involving children in Indonesia, especially violence against children,” said Minister of Social Affairs Juliari, during his visit to BRSAMPK "Handayani" Jakarta at Bambu Apus, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/01/2020).
Another facility visited was the Interest and Talent Building which is the center for social rehabilitation activities in BRSAMPK “Handayani”. From the results of his visit, Minister of Social Affairs Juliari expressed his pride, because of the well-organized management system, complete facilities, and supported by experienced and competent hall managers.
And further he expressed his hope, that BRSAMPK "Handayani" can give greater contribution to Social Welfare Services Recipients (PPKS). With this reason, the existence of BRSAMPK "Handayani" had a positive impact on social welfare development.
"I think in the future the facilities at this hall need to be added. I want us to be able to provide services to more beneficiary children,” said Minister of Social Affairs Juliari.
When he arrived at the Interest and Talent Building which is the center for social rehabilitation activities at BRSAMPK “Handayani”, the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari, took part in a group dynamic game with the children. For some time, he had dialogues with children, including Children Against the Law and children exposed to radicalism.
"The wheel of life is spinning. Let the mischief that you experience get stuck here. Don't go to a more sinister place,” said Minister of Social Affairs Juliari to one of the children.
The Minister of Social Affairs stated that the assistants here can only help them when they are here. "When you come out, it is your responsibility. So be a better person after getting out of here," he added.
In his statement before reporters, the Minister of Social Affairs said that the Ministry of Social Affairs is ready to rehabilitate the social needs of children who require special protection. Even so, he hopes that data prevention is carried out starting from the family as the child's first environment. Monitoring will still be carried out after they return to the family but the responsibility lies with the family.
So the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari reminded parents to really pay attention to the child's development as well as possible. "Together with the family, it is hoped that the children will receive life learning and guidance so that delinquency problems can be prevented," said Minister of Social Affairs Juliari.
The facilities at this hall are quite complete. Several other facilities are owned by SLB-E schools, polyclinic, welding skills building, cooling skills building, screen printing skills building, automotive skills building, hall, dormitories, mosques, psychosocial therapy laboratories, children's dormitories, safe house and house between.
With complete facilities, the 2019 realization data shows that as many as 1,406 children were provided with rehabilitation services with details of 529 children being given assistance aimed at 1 million rupiah per child, 25 children received case responses. In addition, there are 571 PPKS in the Center, 101 children received crisis intervention, and 180 students received school care services.
