SURABAYA (February 19th
2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Poverty
Handling for Region I held a socialization program for Poverty Handling for
Region I in 2020. The activity entitled "Present Social Assistance for
Advanced & Prosperous Indonesia" was attended by 192 participants
consisting of Heads Social Services and Heads of Poverty Handling in provinces
and districts / cities in Region I (Sumatra and West Java).
This activity aims to build
understanding and the same steps for parties involved in the implementation of
the Joint Business Group (KUBE) program, Social Rehabilitation of Unfit for
Living Houses (RS-RTLH), and Environmental Infrastructure (Sarling) as conveyed
by the Director of Poverty Handling Region I, A. M. Asnandar at a hotel in Surabaya
(19/02).
It was conveyed that the target
realization for the distribution of Regular Social Assistance for the Year 2020
Directorate of Poverty Handling Region I is for the KUBE Program with a total
of 45,000 KPM, 6,000 units of RS-RTLH, and 25 units of Sarling in 11 Provinces
of 181 Districts in Region I. "I am very optimistic about the
implementation of this social assistance in 2020 will be successful because of
the support and involvement of stakeholders and implementers from all parties.
"
The same thing was also conveyed
by the Senior Advisor of the Minister for Social Welfare Technology, Harry Z.
Soeratin. He expressed his optimism that this program would continue to
increase. "The poverty alleviation program continues to be improved, at
this time there is no longer the term BPNT but it has been transformed into the
Staple Food Program, because the term staple food is better known to the public
and groceries are everywhere," he explained.
Regarding the regular program for
poverty handling, namely KUBE, it was stated that KUBE is currently in the
process of being refined, so that the output of the KUBE can last in the long
term. "Ensuring that KUBE can act as inside bait to get support from other
parties, including the RS-RTLH and Sarling programs," said the Senior
Advisor to the Minister for Social Welfare Technology.
"Especially for Sarling,
there are additional group meetings for the construction of public bathing,
washing, and toilet facilities (MCK). Regional requirements are more on
personal requirements than groups. In the future, NGOs will meet," he
added.
This outreach activity is not only for introducing old and new programs, but is the most effective communication platform for exchanging information, so that it can be sustainable and can be felt by KPM and program implementers.
At the end of his direction, the Senior
Advisor of the Minister for Social Welfare Technology conveyed the message of
the Minister of Social Affairs that "Currently, the era of empowerment is
not an era of raising hands, but through a process of efforts to be active in
empowering the community so that there is a cycle of economic activity, even
though it is small, it can run well. It does not rule out the possibility that
regions can cooperate with economic actors in their respective regions, and
once again data is very important for the success of a program," he said.
